I used to ask rules questions on Facebook, but Bob & Jim just told me this email existed !
So... Here I am !
First :A few questions have arisen amongst some of our beloved Blood Bowl crowd about the Sponsorship rules :
1) When you roll a 20+ or 25+ can you refuse to take a Minor Sponsorship ? Or a Major Sponsoship ? Or Any Sponsorship (in the 25+ case)? (Just roll out of curiosity...)
2) When you roll 25+ : Can you take a One-time Sponsorshop or Ongoing Sponsorship instead of a Major one?
3) When you gain a One-Time Sponsorship, you earn 1D6x10 000gp immediately.
4) When you gain an Ongoing Sponsorship, you have to wait for the next macht's post-match sequence's phase 3 to earn for the first time the 1D3x10 000gp?
5) If 3 and 4 are true, some fanatics are bothered by the lack of coherency. Why not just make the "find a Sponsor" BEFORE generating the winnnings for the match and then just specify in the Ongoing Sponsorship that you have to wait until the next match to get your first earnings. So all earnings just happen at the same time for the sake of simplicity. Is there a game mechanic we didn't perceive?
6) When rolling the D6 (1 makes a player Miss Next Game) for One Time Sponsorship Deal, the Miss Next Game Players CANNOT be in the random selection?
7) When rolling the D6 (1 makes a player Miss Next Game) for an Ongoing Sponsorship Deal, a Rostered Star Player CAN be in the random selection for the Sponsorship D6 roll of 1 ?So a Rostered Star Player CAN Miss the Next Game due to a Ongoing Sponsorship deal?
Second :I have a question about the next Spike! 4 Magazine :
If the Necromancer is the coach of the team, what happens if the Coach is sent off by the referee for arguing the call !
Do you loose your ability to raise the dead ?
(I would not dare hope that the whole team would fall down completely inanimate...)
Thanks for your illuminating analysis !

1) and 2) You don't have to take a sponsorship if you don't want, you can always refuse it. Rolling higher simply gives you more options.
3) and 4) Yes, correct on both.
5) Over time you will gain more gold from an ongoing sponsorship. Not getting the gold immediately means you have to make a choice which one to take.
6) and 7) Yes, that's the added risk with an ongoing sponsorship; if you have a rostered Star, they might get beaten up by the sponsors for, I don't know, drinking the wrong energy drink perhaps. As I said above, you will gain more from an ongoing sponsorship, and that needs to be off set.
I'm not going to answer questions about books that have not been released yet.
But as it stands, no, you don't lose the ability to raise dead if the head coach is sent-off for arguing a call. If that were the case, it would be stated.
Hope that helps.
